Walk 26: Pennine Peaks and Valleys – Day 3 (Lintley to Haltwhistle)
On our final day of the walk, we set off from Lintley Halt, on a section of The Pennine Way, before crossing the River South Tyne and climbing up onto a path with great views over the valley and the Pennines.
We visit an amazing viaduct that impressively spans a wide gorge and once carried the trains on the Haltwhistle to Alston railway. We pass through some lovely open countryside and walk on the route of an old Roman Road before heading along the riverbank and to our destination at Haltwhistle.
This walk is accessible without private transport as a coach picks us up from Haltwhistle Market Place.
