Walk 22: Haydonian Highlights
This delightful route starts at the riverside where you may be lucky enough to spot a kingfisher before we’ve even started.
We climb steadily through farmland to our lunch break with spectacular views over the South Tyne valley. We continue along footpaths and quiet lanes past off-the-beaten-track farmsteads and visit a remote 12th Century church where the original village of Haydon once stood. From there it’s an easy descent back to the riverside.
