As well as overseeing the development and delivery of the Walking Festivals our committee members are also walk leaders.
John Johnson |

John has been Walking with the Festival for over fifteen years, and has been key to the evolution of the Festival. He has been leading walks since 2012, and knows the area around Haltwhistle extremely well. He has been a member of the committee for the last five years, and is the treasurer, making sure the books balance and that the Festival is financially viable. |

Chris Marples |

Chris has been walking with the Festival since 2015 and has been a walk leader since 2016. He has been on the committee since Autumn 2017, and has the most important role - Chris devises, tests and sources the walks, and puts together the programme for the Festival. He also holds the mailing list and communicates with the walkers over the year, making sure they are informed of all developments. Chris is a very keen walker and particularly likes very long, very muddy walks on bleak moorland and hillsides. |

Gwen Marples |

Gwen Marples has been walking with the Festival since 2014 and has been a walk leader since 2016. Gwen joined the committee in Autumn 2017 and takes responsibility for the mailing list of walkers and communication with them about the Festival. She also prepares the walk packs for the walk leaders. As a retired nurse, Gwen has been key to the development and delivery of first aid training. |

Jan Millward |

Jan has been Walking with the Festival since 2017 and is currently training to be a walk leader. Jan has been living in Haltwhistle since October 2016. She has recently joined the Committee and has taken on the task of being our Haltwhistle Ambassador - liaising with businesses and other organisations in the town, making sure they know about the Festival, what it brings to Haltwhistle and promoting the Festival locally. |

Catriona Mulligan |

Catriona is a keen hill walker and has extensive experience of working in protected landscapes including National Parks, a World Heritage Site and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Catriona is helping with the website as well as being Chair of the Festival Committee. "I am passionate about the wonderful countryside on our doorstep, and am delighted to share it with visitors from near and far." |

Anne E Palmer |

Anne is a retired solicitor, and has been walking with the Festival since 2014. She trained as a walk leader in 2016, and joined the committee in 2017. She develops and edits the website. Anne also designs and leads some special interest walks, especially in and around her home of Kirkwhelpington. |
