Hadrian’s Round

Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th April 2022

This two-day Festival opener is based on the former Haltwhistle Challenge. The event was originally held in 2008 and was a circular, 24+ mile route which began and finished in the Market Place. Participants were issued with a map, grid references and a general guide to the route but they had to navigate their own way around the course. They were challenged to finish the event in 10 hours.

Don’t worry! To make the challenge less intimidating, the current 26-mile route has been split into two 13-mile stretches which will be led at a comfortable pace by experienced walking teams. A bus will bring everyone back to Haltwhistle from Greenhead on Day 1 and will return us to Greenhead on Day 2 so that we can resume and complete our adventure.

There is no need to book time from work as the Round takes place over a weekend.
