Walk 11: Ladycross Nature Reserve (Special Interest Walk) Tuesday 25th April 2023
The nature reserve is in the disused part of a working stone quarry where the owners have created a wonderful blend of ponds, moorland and planting to provide a rich habitat for many breeds of birds, insects and wildlife. A stone circle using large blocks from the quarry is transformed into an amazing calendar of the natural year. A tour of the reserve, led by an experienced and enthusiastic guide, will last about 90 minutes before we set off on a 6- mile walk to take in magnificent views across the South Tyne Valley and Slaley on what promises to be a memorable day out!
