Walk 13: Muggleswick and Edmundbyers Wednesday 26th April 2023
Yes, there really is a place called Muggleswick (no connection to Harry Potter!) and this is your opportunity to go there. Starting in the picturesque village of Edmundbyers, we climb to a trig point at the top of Stoterly Hill with its fine views over Edmunbyers and the surrounding hills. Continuing eastwards, over the fells of Muggleswick Park, we reach the historic village of Muggleswick . Along the way, we visit a very interesting church which provides information about the nearby, curiously named, railway line – Nanny Mayer’s Incline. From here, we walk back along quiet lanes and paths, cross the Burnhope Burn and return to our starting point.
