Walk 19: Talkin Circular Friday 28th April 2023
This walk begins in the charming village of Talkin, just outside Brampton. We descend over open countryside to reach the pretty River Gelt. We follow the river for a short way then make a gentle climb to pass through woodland before descending to cross Low Gelt Bridge. Leaving the river behind us, we climb once more to reach Brampton Fell. Soon after, we arrive at the picturesque Talkin Tarn, a 65-acre glacial lake set in woodland and farmland. It’s then a short distance along a quiet road to return to our starting point.
