Here's our schedule for the 2025 festival.

Note that some walks can be accessed without the need for private transport.

Walk 3: Rocks at the Edge of Empire
Join Ian Jackson, local geologist and author of ‘Rocks at the Edge of Empire’.
Walk 2: Legends and Tales
This short walk meanders along the South Tyne and takes in the two castles of Featherstone and Bellister, now private residences.
Sun 27 April
Walk 4: The Leg Stretcher
We know you can do our shorter walks of around 7 miles and our longer ones up to 14 miles, but how far can you go?

Walk 9: Dipton Delights
Our most eastern route in this year’s festival and it is a wonderful woody circuit.

Our most northerly walk in this year’s festival is full of quirkiness to enjoy!
Walk 11: Walk and Feast
Starting in the picturesque village of Whitley Chapel in Hexhamshire, this lovely walk takes in a mix of sights and terrain.

Walk 12: It's All Mine
Our most southern route in this year’s Festival and a ‘must’ for anyone interested in industrial heritage.
Walk 13: Land of Hope and Sparty
"Lead was once King" in the 19th century and the landscape a hive of industrial activity.
Walk 14: Wildflower Photography
This walk will be led by Marj Baillie who is an accomplished photographer and loves wildflowers.

A real ‘best of both worlds’ walk following the East Allen valley upstream from Allendale...
Walk 16: A Tynedale Toddle
This leisurely walk heads west through undulating countryside to the tiny village of Greenshaw Plain.
Walk 17: Classic Crags and A Brewery
This is a circular walk which begins with a steady climb up to a high point on Hadrian’s Wall.

Walk 18: Trail to Tutman's Hole
This is a high-altitude circuit from England’s highest market town.
Walk 20: Birds in Hadrian's Wall Country
Make sure to bring your binoculars for a special spring Bird Walk, led by Haltwhistle birdwatcher Nick Leeming.
Walk 19: Walkin' and Talkin'
Our most western route in this year with some steep gradients packed into a short circuit.

Walk 21: Pennine Way - Day 1 Bellingham - Housesteads
We start the day with some relatively flat miles close to the River North Tyne, and past some wonderfully remote farms.
Walk 22: Haydonian Highlights
This delightful route starts at the riverside where you may be lucky enough to spot a kingfisher before we’ve even started.

Walk 23: Pennine Way - Day 2 - Housesteads to Greenhead
This is a stunning day’s walk where the Pennine Way coincides with some of the best-preserved sections of Hadrian’s Wall.

Mon 5 May
Walk 25: Pennine Way - Day 3 Greenhead to Haltwhistle
Our bus takes us back to Greenhead for the final stage of our 3-day trail.
Walk 26: Howay Back to Halty
A linear route downhill almost all the way! It winds its way across farmland and moorland with destination Haltwhistle getting ever closer.
