|Description:||Ladycross Nature Reserve
The nature reserve is in the disused part of a working stone quarry where the owners have created a wonderful blend of ponds, moorland and planting to provide a rich habitat for many breeds of birds, insects and wildlife. A stone circle using large blocks from the quarry is transformed into an amazing calendar of the natural year. A tour of the reserve led by an experienced and enthusiastic guide will last about 90 minutes before we set off on a walk to take in magnificent views across the South Tyne Valley and Slaley on what promises to be a memorable day out.
