Beginning in our home town of Haltwhistle, this popular, relatively gentle walk takes us over the famous Alston Arches viaduct across the South Tyne and up to a ridge above the town. Passing the beautiful Webster's Lake which lies hidden in a wooded valley, we move on to the evocative ruin of Warren House and then across the moors to Lynnshield waterfall. We pass another deserted farmhouse above the now disused track of the South Tyne Railway before returning to the town along the river banks of the Tyne.
This walk is suitable for anyone staying in Haltwhistle without a car; it leaves and returns to Haltwhistle Market Place
