Walk 14: Wildflower Photography
This walk will be led by Marj Baillie who is an accomplished photographer and loves wildflowers.
It will start with a short presentation in the Town Hall. From the pretty little village of Wark we shall take a leisurely walk along the banks of the river North Tyne and hopefully, if water levels permit and it is safe to do so, we shall visit Gold Island, which stands in the river North Tyne. With luck the beautiful bluebells that grow there will be blooming!
This year’s walk will concentrate on the use of smartphone cameras which can take splendid photos with such little effort. If you wish to bring an additional camera, please do so but no tripods please. Gold Island and the entire route offers the opportunity for testing the technology on a myriad of spring flowers and views of the North Tyne valley.
Together with our enthusiastic team, we can share techniques and tips as we go and see the results of our efforts back at the Battlesteads Hotel.
NB. Please bring your mobile phone, spare clothes for standing and listening and suitable footwear for crossing at low water to Gold Island
